Indische klassische Musik ist eine Form improvisierter Musik mit einem intuitiven, introspektiven und dennoch ekstatischen Aspekt. Eine der unmittelbaren Wirkungen beim H\u00f6ren dieser Musik ist, dass sie das Nervensystem beruhigt. F\u00fcr den Zuh\u00f6rer wie auch f\u00fcr den Interpreten ist es ein Prozess der inneren Erforschung und der Suche nach einer Verbindung zu sich selbst.

Schon in jungen Jahren erhielt er eine intensive Ausbildung in Gesang und Tabla bei seinem Vater Shri Rabindranath Lahiri und sp\u00e4ter bei Pandit Sandeep Dev. Derzeit ist Shankh ein fortgeschrittener Sch\u00fcler von Pandit Nayan Ghosh.<\/p>\n

Er hat zahlreiche renommierte Musiker begleitet und mit ihnen auf Tourneen gespielt, darunter Pandit Jasraj, Shujaat Khan, Shahid Parvez, Arati Ankalikar, Pandit Nayan Ghosh (Sitar), Pandit Mukul Shivputra (Gesang), Rakesh Chaurasia, den Kanjira-Meister Selva Ganesh und viele weitere.<\/p>\n

Hindol wurde im Alter von f\u00fcnf Jahren von seinem Vater, Sri Panchanan Sardar, an die indische klassische Musik herangef\u00fchrt und sp\u00e4ter von angesehenen Gurus wie Pandit Santosh Bannerji und Pandit Deepak Choudhury ausgebildet, die alle der Rampur-Maihar-Gharana angeh\u00f6rten. Im Laufe der Zeit entwickelte er seine eigene, unverwechselbare musikalische Identit\u00e4t und Klangsprache. Er absolvierte einen Masterstudiengang in Jazz an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Tanz K\u00f6ln.<\/p>\n

Da die indische klassische Musik zu den wenigen Musiktraditionen geh\u00f6rt, die mikrotonale Intervalle durch kontinuierliche Gleitbewegungen zwischen den T\u00f6nen vollst\u00e4ndig einbezieht, nutzt Hindol diese M\u00f6glichkeiten in besonderem Ma\u00dfe. Durch verschiedene Ragas und rhythmische Strukturen erschafft er vielschichtige melodische Klanglandschaften. Shankh has established himself as a highly creative and innovative concert artist in both the classical and experimental world music spheres. From an early age, he received intensive training in both vocal music and Tabla from his father Shri Rabindranath Lahiri and later under Pandit Sandeep Dev.
